Join the vendor list

Be among the first vendors of the Ummah to join a new initiative: the future of Muslim e-commerce.

What do we give you?

  • A community we are building

Muslim shoppers in DC, Maryland and Virginia who want to buy from businesses like yours.

  • Your audience, found

Our aim is to help you reach the people looking for what you sell, and to help keep money circulating within the Ummah.

  • Pickup close to home, on the way

We are building a local fulfillment network, with community spaces such as masjids in mind as pickup points, so customers can collect near them. This is not part of the first version.

  • Links to where you already are

Connect your Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube and website, so people find you in one place.

The first version is a directory. Shoppers find a page for your business and contact you, and you sell the way you already do.

At the fingertips of your community.

A mock-up, only to show the idea: it is not the finished product. The search suggestions and the "near you" pin are not in the first version.

What happens next

  1. You send the form below. It takes about two minutes.
  2. We email you before Rahti Market opens, with how to set up your page.
  3. We review each business before its page appears.

Questions

Who can join?

Any Muslim-owned business that sells products or services: shops, restaurants and caterers, and people who offer a service. Home businesses are welcome. We review each business before it appears, so joining the list does not guarantee a spot.

What does it cost?

Joining the vendor list costs nothing. We have not set what listing will cost, and we will tell you about any fees before they start.

Can shoppers pay on Rahti Market?

Not in the first version. Shoppers find your page and contact you, and you sell the way you already do. Payments are not part of the first version.

When does it launch?

We have not set a launch date yet, and we will not guess at one. You will hear from us by email before it opens.

What happens with my information?

We keep what you send in our email service and our notes, and we use it to plan Rahti Market and to email you about it. We do not sell it. You can ask us to change or delete it at any time: email [email protected]. The notice next to the button, and About your information below, have the details.

Do I have to be in the DMV?

No. We are starting with businesses in DC, Maryland and Virginia, the DMV, so that is where Rahti Market will begin. Online-only businesses and businesses in other places can join the list too. We cannot say yet when we will open beyond the DMV.

About your information

Here, in plain words, is what happens to the details you send when you join the vendor list.

What we collect
Your name and email address. Your business name, what you sell (including the kinds you type in the boxes that open under Services and Other), and where you are based, or that you sell online only. If you choose to give them: a link to your website or Instagram, how you sell today, who told you about Rahti Market, and a note. When you tick the box, we also save the date and time and the id of the wording you saw. If the link you followed ended in a short tag, like ?src=flyer, we save that tag too. Please do not put sensitive personal details in the note.
Why
To plan Rahti Market and to email you about it, including before it opens. Nothing you send is published.
